Ready, Set, GOLD!

Morphe 35R: Ready, Set, GOLD!
Yes I can see those eyes widen as you stare at your screens wondering why I am reviewing yet another Morphe palette and silently wondering how many of these palettes I actually own. This is the third Morphe palette to be added into my ever-growing eyeshadow collection and I am OBSESSED yet again. Morphe palettes are a cult favourite of mine as they contain a mix of matte and shimmers so the palettes are perfect for travelling as you can easily create a mixture of looks just with one palette. As always with these palettes, all the shades are soft and buttery and have amazing pigmentation. I always buy my Morphe palettes from Beauty Bay so I don't have to worry about paying customs or waiting an age for it to arrive.

The 35R palette was released earlier this year to bring the 'regal look of gold into everyday life'. It contains 35 shades ranging from rich chocolate browns to metallic coppers and stunning golds. There are 18 flat matte shades, 15 metallic and 2 shimmery mattes. The packaging is classic Morphe plastic black case with the Morphe logo on the front.

Now onto the swatches. I just used one single swipe to swatch these shades onto my arm and admittedly, some were more pigmented than others. In particular, I noticed that the matte shades weren't as pigmented as the shimmers. Nevertheless, when applied onto my eyes, all of these shades were really easy to blend and build up. For the foiled shades, I recommend using a flat eyeshadow brush, perhaps sprayed with some Fix + from M.A.C to pack on the shadow to create an intense look. I am really impressed with how pigmented the black shade is in this palette (on the fourth row)- check it out for yourselves!

I can't rave about this palette enough as it contains a variety of cool, warm and neutral tones. I think that this palette will be perfect for Christmas time especially, as I love wearing gold shades during that season. I've experienced little to no fall-out whilst using this which is amazing and leads me to believe that Morphe have improved their formula for this palette! As I always say, £22.99 for 35 amazing eyeshadows is too good to resist!

Have you tried out any of the Morphe palettes? Let me know your thoughts!

Autumn Lip Picks

To me, Autumn screams dark, berry lipsticks. I did a similar post to this one last year and looking back, I noticed a majority of the lipsticks I wore back then were berry shades. Since then, I’ve branched out of the rut I was in with lipstick shades and colours, and transitioned into wearing more nude shades over this past year. My autumnal lip edits for this year contain a variety of browny nudes and dark, berry shades which I will be living in throughout this season.

L'Oreal Lip Paint/Matte in 210 Dead Lips

This is a relatively new lipstick on the market and one I picked up around a month ago and instantly fell in love with, although I’m not too keen on the name for this! This is a typical brown-toned nude shade which looks lovely on the lips and feels very weightless. I love how the applicator for this product is slanted which allows for a very neat and precise application. This product is extremely long-lasting and certainly lives up to its name of being a 'paint'!

Rimmel Kate 107

I've recently fallen back in love with the infamous Rimmel 107 lipstick, which is such a popular lipstick choice for this time of year. This is a matte, bold red-wine shade which initially appears sheer on the lips but it can be built up for a more intense look. I think this lipstick is such great value for money and should be a staple for everyone around this time of year! I would say that this lipstick would suit any skin tone, not just a ghostly, pale one like mine! On a side note, as this is a matte lipstick, it can be quite drying on the lips so I always apply a clear lip balm beforehand.

M.A.C Velvet Teddy

I couldn't do an Autumn lip picks post without featuring the iconic Velvet Teddy from M.A.C. This is a matte, medium warm-toned nude. Although, I wouldn't notice that this is a matte lipstick, as it is so creamy! I have been wearing this non-stop recently and it's definitely one of my all-time-favourite lipsticks!

Rimmel The Only One 810 in One-Of-A-Kind

This lipstick is a stunning warm red shade that is extremely pigmented and long-wearing. The formula is slightly glossy and it sits comfortably on my lips. The packaging of this lipstick is sleek and simple, with the useful colour band at the bottom indicating the shade of the lipstick. The only issue I have with this lipstick is that it does smudge and transfer throughout the day, but I guess that is to be expected with such a dark colour, so make sure to apply a lip liner with this one!

New Look Matte Lipstick in Mocha

This is a cool-toned nude shade which glides onto the lips and feels very smooth. This lasts all day on my lips which is a must-have for those cold, autumnal days spent sipping on a PSL from Starbucks. I mentioned this lipstick in my September Favourites so feel free to read that too to hear more about this lipstick, but this is definitely an all round favourite of mine and I can't wait to try some more New Look lipsticks!
