M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review

M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

I've been on the hunt for a full coverage foundation for a while now and after reading so many good reviews about this M.A.C one, I decided to pick it up and give it a try for myself. I have a very fair complexion so I am in the shade NC10, which as far as I am aware is the lightest shade that MAC do, which I am just ashamed about. How can I be THAT ghosty? *Quickly moving on before I have a meltdown at how pale I am and book a spontaneous holiday abroad...*

Initially, I was disappointed with the packaging as there is no dispenser/pump for this product and I didn't want to just pour it out as knowing me, that wouldn't end well, especially as I have cream carpets at home, my mum would kill me. I decided to buy a pump from the MAC website which was £4.50 (buy here) so that I could control how much product I am using at a time. Despite this, the packaging itself is actually very good as it comes in transparent glass packaging which enables you to see the shade properly.

For me, this product offers me high coverage, that is buildable, so I tend to use two layers of this if I want a really heavy coverage. Although, even just one layer of this manages to cover up my blemishes so I am impressed with that. This product also has a very good staying power on my skin I have noticed which is perfect as I don't need to be touching it up throughout the day.

I love the texture of this foundation. It blends so seamlessly into my skin and looks very natural. I always use a damp beauty blender to blend in this foundation and I notice my foundation brush can make this look a bit streaky, but I guess thats because this foundation is thick. This foundation leaves my skin looking smooth and natural, and as it has a matte finish and I have combination to dry skin, I do have to remember to use a thick moisturiser before I apply this foundation.

However, I have noticed that after using this foundation, I have broken out. I can't fully point the blame at this foundation but it certainly does seem to correlate with one another so I only use this foundation when I am specifically after a full coverage look, such as for a night out. Therefore I am still on the look out for a good, full-coverage foundation that is good for sensitive skin so if you have any recommendations please leave a comment below or tweet me @VLBeautyx as I am yet to find my holy-grail full-coverage foundation.
Thanks for reading!
