L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

Hi everyone!

I've wanted to try the new L'Oreal Skin Expert Clay Masks for a while now as they caught my attention straight away! I decided to try the L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask first of all, out of the 3 face masks in the range: Detox, Glow and Purity.
Firstly, I think the masks are very good value for money at £6 for 50ml which they say is around 10 applications, but I've noticed I only need to apply a thin layer so I think it could actually do more than 10 applications!

In terms of the actual product, it has a lovely creamy texture which glides onto the skin really easily. It also washes off very easily with warm water, which is a plus for me as I hate those face masks that are hard to remove and always leave residue on your face. The product really does what it claims to as you can visibly see all the excess oil and impurities being drawn out of your pores as the mask dries (possibly a bit of TMI there but it is weirdly satisfying!). It really cleanses deep into the pores of the skin and removes dirt and impurities, so it is great for removing blackheads and thoroughly detoxifying the skin. The mask leaves my skin looking and feeling completely refreshed and replenished, without drying it out, which I find to be rare in a face mask.

As I've mentioned before on my blog, I have extremely sensitive skin so I am cautious of what I use on my skin but I have had no problems with this mask as it is really gentle on the skin and isn't too heavily scented or harsh, so I really do recommend this for everyone, of all skin types!

Overall, I am completely in love with this face mask and I actually look forward to using it 2-3 times a week (as recommended), which is nice because with the exam season looming, it is nice to set aside some time of an evening to unwind and pamper yourself! I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin by using this product several times already and I would definitely repurchase this! Although, I really want to try the L'Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask next as that one claims to brighten and exfoliate the skin which sounds lovely too.

Let me know what you think of the L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks if you've tried any!

Solitas Preston

Solitas Preston

 Hi everyone,

Last Thursday night, I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend the private launch for the new dining room at Solita's, in Preston. I was thrilled to be invited to this event and have the opportunity to meet some fellow bloggers and social influencers.

Solitas Preston

The event showcased the private dining room, which is perfect if you're looking at hiring out a small venue, as the room featured its own kitchen and bar. The d├ęcor of the dinning room is very Instagram-able, especially the bar area and interesting wall art.

In terms of the food provided, everything was very unique and Solita's had clearly put their own twist on various classics, which made the evening even more enjoyable trying to work out exactly what we were eating! I thoroughly recommend the burgers as they were really tasty and had different and unique fillings to choose from. The macaroni and cheese balls were something that I can't say I would ever choose to have from a menu, but I actually found them to be delicious and I even went back for seconds!

Overall the evening was lovely and well hosted, with complimentary food and drink all evening. Notably, the prices of the food here is more than I would consider to be 'student-friendly' as it is quite pricey, but I would say the ambiance and food provided is well worth the added expense. Although, I personally would consider it a treat visiting here for food, not somewhere that I'd pop into because I couldn't be bothered to cook one evening!

February Favourites

Is it just me or is this year flying by so fast! How is it March already?
I am looking forward to some warmer weather though, so fingers crossed we have a nice Spring this year. Today I thought that I would sum up a few things that I have been loving this month.

Soap & Glory Thick and Fast HD Mascara

I have been using this non-stop this month, as it curls my lashes incredibly well, so much so that people have actually asked me if I am wearing falsies when I am wearing this mascara, which is amazing! I received this in the Soap & Glory Beauty Full House (see here), back in December, but I must admit I never really got into using it too much as over the festive period, as I wanted to stick to makeup that I knew worked well for me, such as the Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious mascara (see review here). This has quickly become one of my trusty, favourite mascaras. Can I also add how lovely the packaging of this mascara is? Gold.

This mascara retails at £10.50 from Boots- Shop here.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronised Recovery Complex II Serum

The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum has been one of my favourite skincare products for a while now, but lately I have been having more late nights due to nights out and university assignments, which has definitely taken its toll on my skin. I have been trying to pamper my skin more as a result, and this is something I have found myself reaching for a lot this month, so I thought it was only right that I gave it the credit it deserves. This really does make my skin feel amazing and hydrated again, but as it is a relatively pricey product, check out my comparison for it to a much more affordable alternative here.

If you want to try out this product, which I do highly recommend, I would suggest trying out the sample sizes beforehand.

Film: Split

I am not usually the type to voluntary go and watch a horror-thriller, but as a Psychology student, I was super eager to watch this film as it delves into the issue of 'Multiple Personality Disorder', which isn't very well known or talked about. I thought the pace of the plot and acting in this film were extremely good, and I found myself to be constantly in a state of suspense throughout. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film and would really recommend watching it.
