My Guide To Frizz-Free, Straight Hair

Top 3 Hair Products

Today I thought I would share with you my top 3 products that I use if I'm going to straighten my hair. These products help to make my hair as soft and as shiny as it possibly can be!
I have naturally wavy/curly hair, so when it comes to straightening my hair, it unfortunately requires a lot more time and effort. I don't straighten my hair that often, as I know the heat is not good for my hair, so I usually will just let it dry naturally and have it wavy. However, on the odd occasion, when I want my hair to look relatively presentable, I will straighten it.

First of all, I wash and condition my hair and then put it up in a hair turban for around 20-30 minutes, until it is damp. Always make sure that you wash your hair under cold water, (for as long as you can bear!) after washing your hair, as this makes your hair shiner and helps to reduce frizz.
Then I take my hair out of the hair turban and spritz it with the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner spray. This stuff makes my feel super soft and healthy and also makes it smell amazing . This is great to use as it not only protects your hair from heat damage, but it also detangles your hair and makes it easier to brush out.
Then I apply a very small amount of the Salon Chic So Smooth Shine Serum. (When I say to use a small amount of this, I mean a small amount! If you use too much it can make your hair feel oily and look greasy). My hairdresser actually recommended this to me as she uses it herself. I like to use this as it helps my hair to feel sleek and helps to smooth out any frizz.

Before blow-drying my hair, I spray it all over with the TRESemmé heat defence styling spray. I use this to protect my hair from any heat damage from using the hairdryer and straighteners. This also helps to reduce frizz and add shine.

To brush my hair, I use the GhD Paddle brush and the straighteners that I use are the black GhD Platinum styler. These are really good and they are great to use as they are much safer and better for your hair. They literally glide through my hair and straighten it so quickly, and funnily enough, they are recommended for 'hard to style hair'- aka wavy/curly hair!

I hope that you enjoyed this post and maybe picked up some ideas! Let me know what your top hair products are!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit

Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt and Contour Kit Ultra Fair

When I first saw Makeup Revolution's Ultra Sculpt and Contour Kit a few months back, I immediately thought it would be perfect for me with travelling back and to, to University and also with my upcoming holiday. It is perfect for travelling as it contains 3 products in 1 packaging, and it is small and portable. I couldn't believe this kit was only £3.50 from Superdrug, given the fact you get a bronzer, highlighter and a blusher.

The kit contains a small rectangular mirror at the top of the inside lid which again is handy for on-the-go. However, as the mirror is so small, it's not really that functional. I picked up the shade Ultra Fair C01 as it looked perfect for lighter skin tones like mine.

I would describe the bronzer as a light matte shade, which is perfect for my skin tone. The highlighter is beautiful as it is a shimmery champagne shade. It applies very smoothly and is extremely pigmented. I was most excited to try the blusher in this kit, as it has been referred to by other beauty bloggers as a dupe for the 'Nars Orgasm' blush. It is a gorgeous shimmery peachy-pink shade, and again it is very pigmented.
All the products are very easy to blend and have great pigmentation and for £3.50, you can't really go wrong with this! I love it for travelling or when I'm travelling back home from Uni for the weekend.

May Favourites

May Favourites

I cannot believe it is June already! It scares me how quickly this year has flown by! May has been an eventful month with having my exams for the majority of it, finishing my first year of university and then jetting off to Greece at the end of the month. I have been loving quite a few things this month, so I thought it would share them with you.

Victoria's Secret Mango Temptation Fragrance Mist

I really need to stop buying Victoria's Secret perfumes and body sprays but they are all just so lovely! This one smells amazing and definitely smells of Mangos. It is really sweet so I love it, but if you don't like sweet smells, I'd stay well clear! I also love the packaging of this product. It looks so pretty.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Protectant

I’ve heard SO many amazing things about the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream so when I saw this at the Airport in Corfu last week, I had to pick it up! This is so lovely and soothing on the lips, especially as my lips are all sunburnt at the moment, this is definitely healing them. I love how you only need a little bit of this, so I'm sure it'll last a really long time.

LOréal Paris Infallible Fixing Mist

This is the first fixing mist that I have tried. I really wanted to try this one as I've heard lots of great reviews about it. I love using this before a night-out to keep my makeup on all night. I've used it a couple of times now and I am hooked! It keeps everything in place and stops my makeup, especially concealer, sliding off.

NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in 'Bedtime Flirt'

I recently reviewed this product on my blog so click here for a more in-depth review, but I have been obsessed with wearing this all month! It's the perfect nude shade for me as it doesn't wash me out like other nudes do, as it is more brown/pink toned.

Starbucks Cold Cup 473ml

I picked up this at the beginning of the month and I am obsessed with it! I love drinking out of these tumbler style cups as I find it helps me to drink a lot more water, as it is so convenient having the straw. If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter (shameless plug: VLBeautyx), you would have seen me post a picture of a smoothie that I made in this cup, as it looked so pretty!

Calvin Klein Modern Cotton Bralette

I received the full white set of this underwear along with the matching knickers, for Christmas last year. Recently I have been living in the bralette as it is super comfortable and love lounging around in it on lazy /revision days. I really want to get another one, but in Black.

Favourite song: Ariana Grande- Greedy

I am obsessed with this song! I have it on repeat pretty much all day long. It is so catchy. I love Ariana's whole album it's amazing, but this one always seems to be stuck in my head!
