Favourite Real Technique Brushes

Finding good quality, yet affordable makeup brushes can sometimes be tricky, especially depending on your skin type. Makeup brushes effect not only how well your makeup goes on and applies to your skin, but how your skin looks with the makeup on! One of my favourite makeup brush lines is ‘Real Techniques’. I thought I would share with you here a couple of my favourite Real Technique brushes.

‘Real Techniques Buffing Brush’

This is an obvious choice for me as I could possibly go as far as saying that this is my all-time-favourite makeup brush to date. I got this from Boots in their ‘Core Collection’ set which was £21.99.

The buffing brush itself is very soft and is of great quality. I use it mostly to blend in my foundation after I have applied it, using circular motions. However, this brush is a multi-purpose brush and could be used to apply foundation, bronzer or even blush. I find this brush blends in my foundation effortlessly and gives an ‘airbrushed’ effect, as it buffs the product into your skin, rather than it looking cakey and noticeable.

If you are looking to start your makeup brush collection, or simply add to it, I can 100% recommend the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, as one of the ‘holy grails’!

       'Real Techniques Powder Brush'

I use this brush to apply power onto my face. I like this brush as it is brilliant at packing on the product and applying powder evenly all over my face. As this is a relatively large brush, it makes the process of applying powder really quick and easy to do. This brush again is incredibly soft and it feels like a luxurious, expensive brush as the handle is quite weighted.

I bought my brush from Boots for £12.99.

  'Real Techniques Brow Brush'

This eyebrow brush came in the ‘Real Techniques Starter Set’ which I kindly received for my birthday last year. It retails at around £21.99 and comes with five brushes and a travel case.
I absolutely love this brow brush, which came in the set, for filling in my eyebrows using the 'Mac Fluidline Gel Crème' (review on that here). It is an angled brush which makes filling in my eyebrows that much easier as I can achieve a more precise shape. This brush is a relatively large eyebrow brush, so I wouldn’t recommend it for those people who may have smaller and more delicate brows than myself. However, it is perfect for myself as I have big, bushy brows so it makes the process quick and easy for me to do!

‘Real Techniques Bold Metals Flat Contour Brush’ (301)

This is a fairly new brush from their new ‘Bold Metals’ collection. This brush can be purchased at Boots for £22. Not only is this brush luxurious and attractive, the bristles are also unbelievably soft. This brush is perfect for contouring as the dense shape of the brush allows for a sharp and precise application. This brush helps to create that chiselled and sculpted ‘Angelia Jolie’ look. I love using this brush to contour my face as it is so quick and easy to blend and buff into my skin. This brush helps to create a really natural contour, whereas I have found that some other contour brushes can apply the product quite harshly onto my skin and can make it appear quite stripy.

I have found that all of these ‘Real technique’ brushes wash and clean very easily. To do this, I use their ‘Deep cleansing gel’ which is a lovely gel formula and I find that that cleans my brushes really easily whilst taking care of them at the same time.

Thank you for reading this post and I hope you enjoyed it!
