Preston Guild Hall's Newest Venue: Level

Level- Preston

Last Wednesday night, I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend the press launch for a new leisure and entertainment venue which is set over multiple floors opening up at Preston Guild Hall. I was thrilled to be invited to this event as I love arcades and activites such as bowling, laser tag and assault courses! The venue officially opened to the public on Friday 8th December but I was informed that the laser tag will open on the 15th.

Level 1 contains Laser Tag, Crazy Golf, Karaoke Booths and Arcade games. Level 2, which the event was held on contained: Ten Pin Bowling, Pointers & Co Darts, Mundo's Street Kitchen, Brooklyn Sports bar and the VIP Spare room. The area had a real 'Northern Quarter' vibe to it and felt very trendy and modern. The press event was relatively quiet but I can imagine that once the general public have access, there will be a warm atmosphere to the space. Level 3 contains the Daredevil assault course, which I didn't get a chance to go on at the press event so I'm really looking forward to trying that out soon!

With regards to the ten pin bowling, I thought it was brilliant and so innovative! It was really like a new era of bowling and makes the conventional ten pin bowling feel so out-dated. There were touchscreen devices which asks for your name and gives you the option to add a picture of yourself as well as the option to put the lanes up on your turn, which I took full advantage of! The interactive screens also allowed you to communicate with other groups of people using the other lanes on a chat messenger which, is different, and can either be fun or in our experience, creepy! I really liked the idea of the venue having a 'spare room' which can be hired out for private parties and contained 2 extra bowling lanes. Next to the bowling area, was the 'Pointers & Co' games room which contained four dart boards, three pool tables and two shuffleboards- ideal for a games night!

The 'Mundo Street Kitchen' is also situated on Level 2 in the middle of the Brooklyn sports bar, which televises all major games and the bowling alley. The restaurant serves American, Mexican and Spanish food which I thought was a really nice variety and mix of cultured dishes. The allergy key particularly impressed me as it appears modern and sleek, yet it also is extremely informative and helpful! The salted caramel popcorn on the nibbles menu instantly took my fancy and I think that's the perfect snack to order if you are playing a game of bowling!

Overall the evening was lovely and well hosted, with complimentary food and drink all evening. I will definitely be returning to Level as I already have an idea for a staff night out to be organised there which I think will be a huge success! I am mostly looking forward to going to Level to play the End of Days Laser Tag and the Daredevil Assault Course and after working up such an appetite, following that up with heading to the Mundo Street Kitchen for some food. The photograph below shows the prices for each game as they were on the 6/12/17.
