To me, Autumn screams dark, berry lipsticks. I did a similar post to this one last year and looking back, I noticed a majority of the lipsticks I wore back then were berry shades. Since then, I’ve branched out of the rut I was in with lipstick shades and colours, and transitioned into wearing more nude shades over this past year. My autumnal lip edits for this year contain a variety of browny nudes and dark, berry shades which I will be living in throughout this season.
L'Oreal Lip Paint/Matte in 210 Dead Lips
This is a relatively new lipstick on the market and one I picked up around a month ago and instantly fell in love with, although I’m not too keen on the name for this! This is a typical brown-toned nude shade which looks lovely on the lips and feels very weightless. I love how the applicator for this product is slanted which allows for a very neat and precise application. This product is extremely long-lasting and certainly lives up to its name of being a 'paint'!
Rimmel Kate 107
I've recently fallen
back in love with the infamous Rimmel 107 lipstick, which is such a popular
lipstick choice for this time of year. This is a matte, bold red-wine shade
which initially appears sheer on the lips but it can be built up for a more
intense look. I think this lipstick is such great value for money and should be
a staple for everyone around this time of year! I would say that this
lipstick would suit any skin tone, not just a ghostly, pale one like mine! On a
side note, as this is a matte lipstick, it can be quite drying on the lips
so I always apply a clear lip balm beforehand.
M.A.C Velvet Teddy
I couldn't do an Autumn lip picks post without featuring the iconic Velvet Teddy from M.A.C. This is a matte, medium warm-toned nude. Although, I wouldn't notice that this is a matte lipstick, as it is so creamy! I have been wearing this non-stop recently and it's definitely one of my all-time-favourite lipsticks!
Rimmel The Only One 810 in One-Of-A-Kind
This lipstick is a stunning warm red shade that
is extremely pigmented and long-wearing. The formula is slightly glossy and it
sits comfortably on my lips. The packaging of this lipstick is sleek and
simple, with the useful colour band at the bottom indicating the shade of the
lipstick. The only issue I have with this lipstick is that it does smudge and
transfer throughout the day, but I guess that is to be expected with such a
dark colour, so make sure to apply a lip liner with this one!
New Look Matte Lipstick in Mocha
This is a
cool-toned nude shade which glides onto the lips and feels very smooth. This
lasts all day on my lips which is a must-have for those cold, autumnal days
spent sipping on a PSL from Starbucks. I mentioned this lipstick in my September Favourites so feel free to read
that too to hear more about this lipstick, but this is definitely an all round
favourite of mine and I can't wait to try some more New Look lipsticks!
