Top 5 Tuesday: Drugstore Lipsticks

Today I thought I would share with you my top 5 drugstore lipsticks. I love lipsticks and would definitely consider them to be my weakness makeup-wise.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in 053- Sorbet
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter- Sorbet
This lipstick has got to be one of my absolute favourites! It is a stunning bright and vibrant fuchsia shade that gives a ‘wet look’ lip effect. The packaging is so pretty and eye-catching. This lipstick has amazing staying power- it literally can last on my lips all day! One of my favourite things about this lipstick is how moisturising it is. This is the first ‘lip butter’ I had ever purchased, and needless to say I was impressed as it feels so smooth and silky on my lips as it applies just like butter! This keeps my lips moisturised all day, which I love as I hate it when lipsticks dry out your lips and makes them go flaky (ew!). I wear this lipstick quite often on a day-to-day basis or even on a night out, as it is such an easy to wear colour. This lipstick retails at around £7.99
No7 Moisture Drench in 700- Soft Earth
No7 Moisture Drench in 700- Soft Earth
This is my ‘go-to’ everyday lipstick. It is so easy to wear and goes with most makeup looks. I would describe the colour as a red, with brown-ish undertones. This lipstick is one of No7’s ‘new and improved’ formulas as it is soft and moisturising as also smooth to apply. This lipstick gives a satin finish to the lips whilst also having SPF 15, which is an added bonus! This lipstick retails at around £9.95.
Rimmel ‘The only 1’ lipstick in 810- One-Of-A-Kind
Rimmel The Only One Lipstick
This lipstick is one of my recent purchases and it is quickly fallen into my favourites! This is one of Rimmel’s new formula lipsticks: ‘One of a Kind’. With such a bold claim, I was eager to try one of these for myself as it sounded like a new revolution!
This lipstick is a stunning deep warm red colour that is extremely pigmented and long-wearing. The formula is slightly glossy and it sits comfortably on my lips. The packaging of this lipstick is sleek and simple, with the useful colour band at the bottom indicating the shade of the lipstick. However, the lid on this lipstick is tight-fitting, but hopefully this will loosen over time (or maybe I just need to work on my arms more at the gym!)
This lipstick is affordable at only £6.99 and so far I have definitely got my money’s worth!
Topshop Lips- Inhibition

This lipstick is definitely one for the Autumn/Winter season! It is a striking dark berry shade which does appear to look more like a purple on the lips. It applies very easily and smoothly with a matte finish. This colour is extremely pigmented so be careful not to get any on your skin as it does seem to stain! It can be purchased in-store or online at for £8.
One thing I would say about this lipstick is that it is quite drying on the lips and can show up the cracks on your lips which sometimes makes this quite uncomfortable to wear. I would definitely recommend moisturising your lips before you apply this lipstick!
Natural Collection Moisture Shine- Berry Sorbet
Natural Collection Moisture Shine- Berry Sorbet
This is by far the cheapest lipstick that I own for only £1.99, yet don’t be put off as this is also one of my favourites! This lipstick works really well in giving a slight bit of colour, whilst also moisturising my lips.
I like to carry this lipstick around in my handbag for those days wear I feel like I need to add a little colour to my lips. Even when my current lipstick is wearing off, this one is brilliant just to quickly apply over the top! This lipstick is just so easy to wear and the shape of the bullet means that I can even apply this without using a mirror- making life just that little bit easier!
The packaging of this lipstick isn't necessarily the most attractive, yet what can you expect for a £1.99 lipstick! It's basic and simple, yet I couldn't leave the house without it!

As you will have probably noticed, all of these lipsticks are somewhat ‘berry’ toned. I do like a darker lip as I think it suits my skin tone more but I am becoming guilty of sticking to the same colours! I’m interested in lightening things up for spring/summer so if you have any recommendations or favourites of your own that are less dark and red, feel free to leave them in the comments section below!
